The Canfranc Underground Laboratory (LSC) is the second-largest deep underground laboratory in Europe and forms part of the national network of Unique Scientific and Technical Infrastructures (ICTS). The LSC offers researchers the opportunity to carry out cutting-edge research in fundamental physics and astrophysics, as well as geology, biology and environmental sciences, at its uniquely situated site. The LSC’s facilities, shielded from natural cosmic radiation, will enable the detection of events that occur with a very low probability.
Access to our facilities for researchers from the public and private sectors, both national and international, with the support of the ICTS’s own technical and administrative staff, is provided under a ‘Competitive Open Access’ scheme.
The deadline for submitting proposals before the next meeting will be 19 October 2026.
