New implosion tests of the PMTs of the Hyper-Kamiokande telescope in collaboration with SOCIB
The sixth implosion test campaign, led by the LSC and carried out at the SOCIB facilities (Mallorca), has recently been successfully completed. These campaigns aim to validate the viability of the protective covers of the sensors of the future HK telescope.

Bio Platform: Experiment “Ticking of epigenetic and senescence aging clocks in cosmic silence”
This week the first onsite phase of the PB-07-23 experiment ends. Staff from the ICO-IDIBGI Metabolism and Cancer group have been working with different cell lines to study senescence and the modulation of epigenic clocks in response to cosmic silence.
The Future of Astroparticle Physics in Europe
The Future of Astroparticle Physics in Europe: Presentation of the Mid-Term Update of the European Astroparticle Physics Strategy. The European Astroparticle Physics (APPEC) announces that the Mid-Term Update of the European Astroparticle Physics Strategy 2017-2026 has been successfully finalised and approved by the APPEC General Assembly.
Commissioning of the NEXT-100 detector
The assembly of the NEXT-100 detector was completed on 22 November. Over the next few months, it will work at low pressure to test and calibrate the instrumentation. The objective of the NEXT experiment is the detection of the neutrinoless double beta decay in xenon gas, and the NEXT-100 detector aims to further validate the technology with 100 kg of xenon gas and improve the background model for the future phases of the experiment.

Eventful Scientific Month at LSC!!!
New External Facilities for the BIO Platform
The new external facilities of the LSC biology laboratory have been completed in recent months. They now have the necessary equipment to reproduce the same assay conditions over and underground, the only difference between the two environments being the low radioactive background that is achieved by going deep into the heart of the mountain.

Acquisition of a Flow Cytometer at the LSC
Access to new experiments in underground science with the acquisition of a flow cytometer at the LSC.
Researcher Night 2023
On the evening of 29 September 2023, researchers from the LSC travelled to Huesca to participate in the European Researchers Night.
September 2023
LSC Open Day
Next Sunday 24!" September, the LSC will celebrate its Open Day with free access activities such as a Visit to the Museum Room, Experimental Workshops, Demonstrations of Detection Techniques and Workshops for Kids.

Pushing the sensitivity with the new ICP-MS-QQQ in the clean room underground
The LSC acquired a new triple quadrupole ICP-MS/MS, which was installed inside the Clean Room in our underground facilities. The ICP-MS equipment (Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometer) provides elemental information, either by qualitative, semi-quantitative and/or quantitative analysis, by ionising samples in an Argon plasma generated at atmospheric pressure.
