This week, staff from the NEXT collaboration completed the assembly of the 40 radio-pure copper bars, provided by the LSC, which form part of the shielding of the new NEXT-100 detector.
This assembly completes a critical phase of the entire NEXT-100 construction process. A detector that will operate with 100 kg of Xenon gas to try to discover the special nature of neutrinos.
