The LSC has acquired a tank with a capacity of 40 tons of water, intended for large-scale physics experiments.
For the next two years, this tank will remain at CERN (Geneva, Switzerland) as part of the WCTE experiment, a project to test next-generation detectors for Hyper-Kamiokande.
After this period, it will return to the LSC to serve as a water shielding for future experiments where, due to their size, the use of lead is not feasible.
