On Thursday 9 February, on the occasion of Women in Science Day, which takes place on 11 February, women scientists from the Canfranc Underground Laboratory visited the Jacetania adult education centre to give a talk.
First of all, the researchers Beatriz Hernandez, Silvia Borjabad and Rebecca Hernandez, explained to the audience the role of women in science throughout history and made a review of those women researchers whose scientific work was unjustly not recognised. They then spoke about the scientific and research work they carry out on a daily basis, as well as the international projects in which each of them are involved. Finally, they recounted their training and professional careers in a field in which, until now, women have not had a presence comparable to that of men.
