The Copper Electroforming Service (CES) at the LSC has been recently completed by the installation of two new equipment: a monitoring and control system and a new power supply.
The Monitoring and Control System allows to carry out a wide variety of electroforming techniques, process parameters monitoring, automatic control in case of emergency and alarm signals. All of these in a continuous 24/7 This equipment was designed and installed by the Servicio de Instrumentación (SAI, University of Zaragoza).
The new power supply provides different working modes, local and remote control and a robust and stable signal, increasing by a factor of 4 the current output.
This service has been improved by the process control and monitoring, increase in the dimensions of the electroformed copper piece and the plating rate optimization.
